The inter-Scandinavian initiative SJUF has, since its first congress in 1919 in Copenhagen, worked to bring together the Jews of the Nordic region. Over time, SJUF's methods have taken new forms, but the core values have remained the same. For many years now, Scandinavian congregations share the responsibility of designating a host city, which, in turn, is responsible for organizing the three-day New Year's celebration with accompanying activities. We feel honored to continue such a deeply rooted tradition!
